Heggerty Phonemic Awareness
The journey to reading is made complete with our 2021 addition of Heggerty Phonemic Awareness to our center. Phonemic awareness is the ability to understand that spoken words are made up of individual sounds called phonemes. Failing to provide explicit phonemic awareness instruction leads to many students lacking the understanding that words are made up of individual sounds. Children need solid phonemic awareness training for phonics instruction to be effective.
